چکیده

Background and aim Alveolar fluid clearance is impaired by inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS)/nitric oxide (NO)-dependent mechanisms in acute lung injury (ALI)/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The activation of the stress protein response (SPR) in alveolar macrophages on iNOS-dependent NO production in response to interferon g (IFNg), a major cytokine present in the airspace of patients with ALI, was investigated. Methods The SPR was activated in murine and primary human alveolar macrophages prior to analysis of signal transducer and activator of transcription factor 1 (STAT1) activation, iNOS mRNA and protein synthesis, and NO

Activation of the stress protein response inhibits the STAT1 signalling pathway and iNOS function in alveolar macrophages: role of Hsp90 and Hsp70.

Obligatory role of heat shock protein 90 in iNOS induction.

Inducible nitric oxide (NO) synthase (iNOS) plays an important role in cell injury and host defense. While undetectable in normal tissues, iNOS expression is induced by endotoxins and inflammatory cytokines primarily via the IκB kinase/nuclear factor-κB (IKK-NF-κB) and Janus kinase (JAK)-signal transducers and activators of transcription 1 (STAT1) pathways. Our previous studies found that heat ...

The Role and Effect of Hspa2 in Male Infertility

The heat shock proteins (HSPs) are a group of homologous proteins encoded with a multigene family. They can be divided into five groups based on both size and function; including HSP27, HSP60, HSP70, HSP90 and HSP100. Expression of HSPs can be constitutive and can increased when cells undergo metabolic and/or heat stress. HSPA2/Hsp70-2 is a kind of HSP70 and constitutively expressed in testis. ...

Expression of hsp90 Alpha and hsp90 Beta during Xenopus laevis Embryonic Development

Background: Members of the eukaryotic Hsp90 family function as important molecular chaperones in the assembly, folding and activation of cellular signaling in development. Two hsp90 genes, hsp90 alpha and hsp90 beta, have been identified in fish and homeothermic vertebrates but not in poikilothermic vertebrates. In the present study, the expression of hsp90 alpha and hsp90 beta genes in Xenopus...

Alcohol exposure regulates heat shock transcription factor binding and heat shock proteins 70 and 90 in monocytes and macrophages: implication for TNF-alpha regulation.

Immunomodulatory effects of alcohol use involve regulation of innate immune cell function leading to liver disease. Alteration of inflammatory responses by alcohol is linked to dysregulated TNF-alpha production. Alcohol-induced oxidative stress also contributes to alterations in inflammatory cell activity. Heat shock proteins (hsps) and the heat shock transcription factor-1 (HSF-1) induced by o...
